This should help with creating your characters. If they don't follow these rules, they will not be accepted.
The List of OC Application Rules:
1.) Dark/Emo Characters
Since this is a little kids show, we strongly advise you not to have a really dark character. A backstory worse then Pinkie Pie's or a character more depressed then Maud Pie is not okay.
2.) Please have a decent amount of likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses for your ponies. And the Overall Persona should be a nice long detailed paragraph or two. Even more if you want to include a backstory - we encourage that!
3.) No relationships or being related to official, background or even other original characters without their player's direct permission. It get's weird when someone's character is being kissed by some stranger.
4.) Please don't have your occupation in a place that a canon character already works at, unless given permission by the roleplayer who controls the canon character i.e Sugarcube Corner, Ponyville library, Carousel Boutique etc.
5.) If you're waiting for a character to be accepted, please don't create a dozen more during. Do you know how annoying that is for mods? If your bored, talk to another player or make up a fun game!
6.) On that note, don't whine at/about or constantly nag staff while you're waiting. We all have lives, believe it or not, and it's also extremely irritating.
7.) We appreciate use of different species on the boards. For more information what species you can and can't use, we have a list for that. But know that your original characters have to be ponies, as a lot of these species are for more trusted players.
8.) Respect the staff and their opinions of your character. Any whining or back chat/talk will get you into trouble. They're only doing their job, and you'd better do as they ask you or you will be banned.
9.) Do NOT post on someone else's bio. Only staff and the character's owner may comment. We have the right to delete your post if you break this rule.
10.) Try and fill EVERY category, and with good, readable grammar. We want to know what you're saying!
11.) No Mary Sues or Gary Stus. We have a flaws/weaknesses category in there for a reason! No one wants a perfect character, it will get boring when roleplaying. We need conflict!
12.) Keep your characters ORIGINAL - do NOT steal anyone else's ideas or designs!
13.) And the most important rule - if it wouldn't be in the show, then it won't work on the site. We try to be as canon as possible, and the character needs to fit in with the style of the show. No particularly mean or rude characters, unless they're intentional antagonists - which we're wary of because it still needs to work with the style. Nothing that you wouldn't see in the kid-friendly and happy mood of the show.
14.) More than one staff member can comment on an app if any other staff members feel anything has been missed out. And besides, the more help you get, the better the character would be!
15.) Concerning unicorns with damaged or broken horns, you may have it. Just make their magic out of control or something. It cannot work like a normal unicorn horn would.
